Fingolimod is a molecule that binds a receptor called the S1P Receptor. That receptor is expressed on MANY different kinds of human tissues. For this reason, fingolimod can have an effect on several different organ systems.

Here we discuss the suggested pre-testing prior to starting fingolimod (skin, exams labs, special eye test, EKG, cardiac and pulmonary history, evaluation of medications).

Then we review recommendations for monitors while taking fingolimod long term. (eye, labs, skin exams).
