We read with interest the study by Jones et al. which highlights how well-established dermoscopy now is among UK General Practitioners (GPs) with an interest in dermatology. The benefits that dermoscopy adds to the assessment of pigmented skin lesions is clearly appreciated by this group of clinicians. Data such as these are foundational in studying the longer-term impact and role of dermoscopy in general practice, and having highlighted the lack of UK data in a recent review we welcome their findings as timely and important.
